From slave to deputy of Pharaoh Part A
Joseph was leaving Hebron valley to Shechem
bcs Israel told Joseph to go the miracle started.
A stranger said the brother moved with their flock to Dothan.
The brother say each other but before Joseph could get to them they had
plotted to kill him. Here comes the dreamer lets throw him into one of
these cisterns and say that a ferocious animal devoured him. Then we'll
see what comes of his dreams.
When the older brother Reuben heard
this he said don't shed any blood, but they still put him in a cistern
with no water in it. Then they all sat and eat lunch and at this time a
caravan came by with camels loaded with spices. Joseph was sold to the
Ishmaelites for twenty pieces of silver (Jesus was sold for thirty).
Joseph was on his way to Egypt. I guess Reuben took off but when he
returned he got so upset ripping his shirt off where is Joseph the
brothers killed a goat smearing blood on the clothes saying he was
attacked. Will you be following God with all your heart when the time
comes?
The sons lied to Jacob and Jacob tore his clothes off putting on a sackcloth and mourned. No one could comfort Jacob.
Meanwhile, the Midianites sold Joseph to Potiphar, one of Pharaoh's
officers, the high captain of the guard. The Lord was with Joseph so he
prospered and he lived in the house of the Egyptian master. The Lord
have him success in everything he did. Potiphar entrusted everything in
the house to Joseph.
After a while Potiphar's wife notice the
handsome Joseph. She had him tossed in prison for not pleasing her
wicked ways. She lied and said the Hebrew made sport of her and she
screamed for help. In prison the Lord was with Joseph and the warden
gave him favor. The warden put Joseph in charge of all those held in
prison.
Joseph was in prison over two years and the rumor was he
could interpret so when the dream was presented Joseph said I can not
help but God can! Joseph recommendation to Pharaoh was to put a wise man
in charge of the food and preparing for the coming famine.
Joseph was summoned to the royal court to interpret a dream. The Pharaoh
said to Joseph since God has made all this known to you, there is no
one so discerning and wise as you. You shall be in charge of my palace,
and all my people are to submit to your orders.
More to come tomorrow
